Paulman is a third-generation farmer who has been involved in agriculture for more than 25 years. He owns or operates 5,600 acres of center pivot-irrigated ground and 1,400 acres of ecofallow farm ground in southwestern Nebraska. Paulman’s annual cropping rotations include corn, popcorn, dry edible beans, soybeans, winter wheat and sugar beets. Paulman’s professional affiliations include membership in the National Corn Growers Association, Nebraska Corn Growers Association, Nebraska Soybean Growers Association, Nebraska Dry Bean Growers Association and the National Dry Bean Council. He is chair of the West Central Water Coalition and is a stakeholder in the state and local Natural Resources District level of the over-appropriated Platte River Basin. He is a former chair of the Nebraska Dry Bean Commission and former vice chair of the American Dry Bean Board.
